So far in my testing and entry into this application, I have noticed that the account numbering is per portfolio. So you could have an account listed as ADG1000 and one also listed BEH1000 which is a problem for me because the numerical side is duplicated. Secondly, in that example the DTMF value of the whole string is also a full match since 1=ABC, 2=DEF and 3=GHI, making both accounts DTMF value "2341000".

While the text side of the full "account number" is useful for knowing what client or portfolio the numerical value matches, I would rather see the numerical side being incremental over all portfolios.

You don't need to enter alpha characters in the file number if you don't want to.  The software will function perfectly fine if you simply incremented the filenumber by one (1000, 1001, 1002.....etc.)
Thank you for the suggestion but we may keep it as it is as many of our clients like to add a prefix to the file number for the client they are collecting for (like Bank of America might be BA1000, BA1001).

When trying to do a "Manual" add account the "File Number" boxes are listed as a required field, however I did just try one without the alpha side and it did not squawk at me.

However I am still seeing that on manual account entry that it is not picking up the current "auto incremental" value. Secondly, it still seems that the incremental value is portfolio specific. So that if I enter a claim and tell it to remember and increment from value "1" on Portfolio "A" it does not seem to pick up that the next value on a new account in Portfolio "B" is now "2"; or at least is not done that on any of my test.

I would like to see, regardless of the Portfolio, a universal incremental value being generated for the "numerical" side of the file number.

Ok.  That shouldn't be a problem.  We can copy the auto-increment id  field.  It will be an optional setting from a button on screen.

It has been installed in our latest version.
